Roof Restoration

Cement Tiles

The most common type of roofing tiles in Western Australia are referred too as cement tiles. These are various tiles made by companies such as Monier and Westate with some very old models known as Konkretes, and Peter Pans.

Cement tiles as they age lose their protective skin. This skin turns to a chalky powder and slowly disappears. After a period of time as the tiles lose their protective coating this can allow water to enter into the tile and may increase the weight of the roof. This extra weight in turn may cause cracking of the ridges and hips.
