This specialised range of services applies mainly to older, brick, limestone or stone houses, both in the metropolitan and country areas.
The Roof & Wall Doctor will visit the site of any home or building with wall problems. The successful treatment of Rising Damp and restoration of Tuck Pointing requires an individual assessment and specification for each job.
The Roof & Wall Doctor’s wall restoration treatment has many forms, which range from re-pointing of fretting mortars, through to the complete process of removing old cement renders followed by the drilling and injection of Damp Cure Siliconate into the bricks. This is a clean no mess way of reinstating a missing or damaged Damp Proof Course.
All restoration work is carried out using the ideals of The National Trust of Western Australia. The Roof & Wall Doctor is sympathetic to old buildings and aims to restore the building to its original glory, under the Burra Charter.
Our most well known restoration inolves several of the Church’s and Priest’s Houses, of Monsignor Cyril John Hawes, in the wheatbelt towns of Morowa, Mullewa, Perenjori and Northampton.
Specifications called for the removal of cement rich renders and old paints and replacement of the renders with lime mortars. Also Tuck pointing replaced, cavities cleaned and ventilation, including under floor ventilation and wall vents were installed.
