This was an important month for the Asbestos Diseases Society of Australia Inc. The 2015 ADSA Annual Walk for Research and Awareness was held between September 12th and September 18th, and The Roof & Wall Doctor was a proud sponsor of walker John Bornholdt who walked 20km per day for five days to help raise money for and awareness of asbestos related diseases.
The walk began in Albany and continued through Gnowangerup, Woodanilling, Cubaling, Armadale and into Perth. The Roof & Wall Doctor congratulates John for his continued commitment to this cause.
A whopping $55,000 was raised during the 2014 ADSA Walk, all monies being donated to Sir Charles Gairdner Medical Research Centre. Australia has the second highest rate of mesothelioma deaths in the world, second only to the United Kingdom, so it is vital that research into a cure for asbestos related cancers continues.
